Because the weave is set by hand, no two pieces are identical. Slight variation in tone and rhythm is the signature of real craft, not a flaw — it is how you tell a hand-woven piece from a factory copy.
Where it comes from
Made by artisan households in Bobai and Rong'an County, Guangxi, China — a weaving region with several generations of continuous practice and recognised intangible-cultural-heritage techniques. We buy directly from the workshops, so the makers keep a fair share of the price.
Materials & environment
- 100% natural rattan, bamboo and seagrass — plant-based and fully biodegradable.
- Bamboo regrows in 3–5 years without replanting; rattan is a fast-renewing climbing palm.
- Plant dyes and low-VOC finishes; no plastic coating, no PVC weave.
- Plastic-free packaging: recycled cartons, paper tape, paper void fill.
Care
Dust with a dry brush, wipe with a barely damp cloth, and keep out of prolonged direct sun. Natural fibre dries and lightens over time — a light mist of water restores its flexibility.
