Weaving Tomorrow: JapandiWoven's Nationwide Artisan Network

Behind every JapandiWoven basket, lamp and tote is a pair of hands. Not one factory line, but a network of workshops and home weavers spread across China's traditional craft regions, each with its own materials, techniques and family knowledge.

A nationwide production system
We built our supply model around people rather than machines. JapandiWoven coordinates skilled makers from bamboo, rattan, willow and seagrass weaving regions, matching each design to the community whose craft fits it best. Shared quality standards, sample approval and central inspection let small workshops deliver consistent results for international buyers.
Keeping a living heritage alive
Many weaving techniques are passed down within families and villages. When orders disappear, so does the knowledge. Steady, fairly paid work gives artisans — many of them women and older craftspeople working close to home — a reason to keep weaving and to teach the next generation. Our designers then translate these time-honoured techniques into clean Japandi forms that fit modern homes, hotels and stores.
Craft for fashion and the environment
Natural fibres are renewable, low-energy to process and biodegradable at the end of their life. Woven bags, totes and accessories offer a stylish alternative to synthetic fashion, while baskets and lighting replace plastic in the home. We favour natural finishes, minimal packaging and nested shapes that save shipping space.

Why it matters for buyers
Choosing handmade means choosing slower, more responsible products with a real story — something today's customers increasingly ask for. With a low MOQ of 30 pieces and mixed SKUs within one category, designers and retailers can start small and grow with us.
